  • Compete by the rules and abide by the Umpires’ decision.
  • Control your temper. Make no criticism by word or gesture. Do not use unacceptable language.

  • At all times co-operate with your Coach/Manager, other team officials, Club officials, team mates and opponents – without them you do not have a competition.
  • Remember the goals of the game are to have fun and improve your skills. Be modest in success and generous in defeat.

  • Applaud good performances and efforts by each team. Congratulate all participants upon their performance regardless of the game’s outcome.
  • Respect the decisions of officials. If there is a disagreement, follow the appropriate procedure in order to question a decision.
  • Never ridicule a player for making a mistake during a game. Positive comments are motivational.
  • Condemn the use of violence in any form, be it by spectators, coaches, officials or players. Show respect for your team’s opponents. Without them there would be no competition.
  • Encourage players to follow the rules and the official decisions.
  • Demonstrate appropriate social behaviour by not using foul language, harassing players, coaches or officials.
  • Never use derogatory language based on gender or race.
